Procrustean bed

The myth has it that there once was a smith named Procrustes, that used to invite passerbys and offered them hostry. Staying over night, entering their bed, they got fitted bye the hand of Procrustes who cut the legs if they were too long, and stretched them if they weren’t tall enough for the bed. (more…)
